Community Funds

Supporting the Entire Community

Your contribution to the Community Fund supports a broad range of local needs — including future needs that often cannot be anticipated at the time your gift is made. We evaluate all aspects of community well-being: arts and culture, education, health and wellness, human services, youth development, animal welfare, environmental, community development and more.
The flexibility of your unrestricted gift to the Community Fund enables Charlotte Community Foundation to respond to the community’s most pressing needs today, tomorrow and in perpetuity.
Because you set no restrictions on the use of your gift, our experienced program staff and board award Community Investment Grants to nonprofit organizations addressing our community’s most critical needs. The Community Fund supports long-term solutions; responds quickly to emergencies; and meets the changing social, cultural, educational or environmental needs in our community.

How It Works

  • You make a gift to the Community Fund at Charlotte Community Foundation during your lifetime or through a bequest in your will. You can give cash, appreciated stocks, real estate, or other assets.
  • You receive tax benefits in the year your gift was made.
  • Our professional program staff determines the areas of greatest community need that would be most impacted by distributions from your gift.
  • We handle all administrative details, including managing specific qualifications that you may establish for distributions

DONOR’S BILL OF RIGHTS

Grants

Giving back to the community through grant making is one way how we fulfill our mission of “Connecting People Who Care with Causes that Matter”. Through the generosity of our donors, The Charlotte Community Foundation can award grant making dollars each year to organizations serving the needs of communities in and around Charlotte County Florida.
