Marijuana use by Charlotte County High School Students:
- 2002 (DFCC start in 2002) – 48.7%
- 2012 – 43.2%
- 2022 – 27.3%
During FY 22-23, Drug Free Charlotte County provided over 1000 prevention activities to youth and families in Charlotte County.
We engage with over 75 local health care providers, pharmacies, and local libraries partnering to provide education and information materials throughout the community, including nearly 7000 Deterra safe Rx disposal systems.
Our partnerships with the school system and Family Services Center means that all funding goes to providing services, as we have no office overhead.
Future Growth Goals
Expand Services in Elementary Schools
Strengthen family education through “Parent Boot Camp” to at least 100 families by 2025
Equip our community with tools to navigate addiction within their family, employees, or close social network and faith community through enCompass and R2A (Respond to Addiction) programs, reaching at least 100 persons by 2025
