You Establish a Fund to be Distributed as Part of Your Estate

The Legacy Society was founded to recognize generous and visionary friends and benefactors who use CCF to carry out their estate plans. When you join The Legacy Society, you join a select group of like-minded people who are committed to support the needs of our community. These people have worked hard, saved wisely, and invested well, and they understand the power of endowment. They know that assets they leave to CCF will be invested wisely, and will support good works in our community for generations to come. Too often, these gifts are unrecognized because they come at the end of the donors’ lives. The Legacy Society at Charlotte Community Foundation provides a way to recognize and thank donors during their lifetimes. The only requirement to become a member of The Legacy Society is a simple statement of intent to leave a gift to CCF in one’s estate plan. Disclosure of the amount and details of the gift is optional. Members can remain anonymous if they so desire. The Legacy Society members receive general publications, the CCF Annual Report and program notifications from CCF, and are invited to special CCF special events. Additionally, Legacy Society members will be promoted (unless anonymous) in our Annual Report and on our website, encouraging others to consider joining.

As a Member, You’ll have the Opportunity to:

  • Name your charitable fund. We encourage you to name your fund in honor of you, your family, or a loved one. Or you may wish to remain anonymous.
  • Share your personal history. We want to preserve your story and photographs for future generations who will receive distributions from your fund.
  • Be recognized in CCF publications and at CCF events. We appreciate your generosity and believe your example of stewardship can inspire others to follow suit.
