In this heartfelt letter, Christina expresses her gratitude to her generous donor for supporting her education through the Charlotte County Community Foundation Health Professions Scholarship.
Dear Generous Donor,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generosity in funding the Charlotte County Community Foundation Health Professions Scholarship. Due to your contribution, I am now able to finish my education at Florida State University with a sense of financial security. This scholarship has ultimately lightened my financial burden and has allowed me to focus more on the important aspects of school. As I enter my third semester of graduate school at Florida State, I look forward to furthering my education and involvement.
As a previous University Ambassador here at FSU, one of my favorite pieces of advice to give incoming students was to “Find at least one organization here on campus that you are passionate about.” While this piece of advice will probably be thrown at them 2,000 more times throughout their transition from high school to college, my own experiences here at Florida State have led me to believe that it is so crucial. Throughout my undergraduate career at FSU, I was involved with Camp Kesem, Relay for Life, the Freshman Leadership Institute, Splash Pals, and the University Ambassador program. I also maintained a 4.0 GPA and acquired over 1,000 community service hours. My commitment to community service was recognized by the College of Communication and Information when they selected me for the 2020 Humanitarian of the Year award.
I am extremely excited for the start of a new semester. Throughout the next year, I will conduct research to evaluate the effectiveness of the ASL supplemental laboratory. In addition, I will serve children with disabilities on an interdisciplinary team through the KIDDs program. As demonstrated in the past, I am committed to serving my community and plan on doing so by assisting a local Wounded Warrior in regaining his independence as he recovers from a stroke. Once again, thank you so much for allowing me to feel excited about the upcoming year.
Sincerely,
Christina Vallone
